A Commitment to Nurture and Support

It is our strong belief that each person carries a divine spark within that we are committed to nurture and support. And we are all partners in this joyful work. No matter the age, from tot to senior, from our Early Childhood programs, 3K, Pre-K, Religious School, Hebrew High School to our adult education programs, the Forest Hills Jewish Center is committed to ensuring that each learner will thrive.

young girlsCreating a community of learners is a cornerstone of Forest Hills Jewish Center. We start with PJ Friday Nights & Shabbat On The Stoop where tots and those who love them enjoy Jewish mindfulness, songs and stories. Our child-centered Toddler, 3K and Pre-K Early Childhood Programs provide a superb, well-balanced, and nurturing general education, and offer a rich Judaic curriculum as well. Our K-12 Religious School engages children and families in a creative and meaningful exploration of our Jewish traditions, community, prayer and Hebrew so that each child can thrive. Our teachers and clergy mentor FHJC students as they grow into proud and knowledgeable bar and bat mitzvah celebrants and active members of the Jewish community.

adultsAt FHJC, learning does not stop at the age of 13. Our teens connect with Israel and activism. Our building is humming with Adult Education classes and limud every day of the year. Whether it’s a renowned speaker, an interfaith dinner, an evening probing Judaism’s influence on graphic novelists or ongoing Talmud study, our members and clergy continue teaching and learning, sharing and reflecting and growing from age 1 to 120.
