High Holidays 5784

Our Kol Nidre Appeal - How You Make FHJC Possible

July 11, 2023 22 Tamuz 5783

Dear Members of The Forest Hills Jewish Center,

The year 5784 that we are about to usher in will be a special year in the life of the Forest Hills Jewish Center. We welcome Rabbi Daniel Graber as our new spiritual leader and look forward to inspiring sermons that help us reflect on the significance of the High Holidays.

Rosh Hashana is the perfect time to kick off this special year and bring together our FHJC community. Please take this opportunity to reserve your seats in our beautifully repaired and repainted Rabbi Ben Zion Bokser Sanctuary. Make plans to bring the entire family – including children and grandchildren, who will be able to attend services tailored especially for them. High Holiday ticket sales are now open! As has been the case since the start of Covid, we will continue to minimize risks for those who are especially vulnerable and wish to attend services, by doing the following:

  • All High Holiday services will be available remotely via a unique Zoom link for those who are not ready or who are unable to attend services in-person.
  • Though specific seat requests cannot be taken, anyone wishing to sit in the balcony to achieve greater social distancing may request a balcony seat.

Click here for the seat reservation form (also included below); please return it before August 26. High Holiday ticket prices are the same as for last year, $230 ($75 for children under 18).

We ask Zoom participants to support the service and the shul by purchasing virtual tickets; please indicate “Virtual Seats” on the form if you will not attend in person. We are excited to celebrate the High Holidays with Rabbi Graber and Hazzan Levin and look forward to having you join us. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call Laurie Worthman at 718-263-7000 x203. Stay safe and enjoy the summer. Gary Kerzner, President
