Prayer is a central pillar of Jewish life. Through prayer we express awe, gratitude, and hope, articulating our values and supporting each other in joy and grief. You are welcome to join us in our beautiful building, and you are also welcome to join us on Zoom.
Shabbat
Kabbalat Shabbat—Friday nights at 5:30 PM (winter time)
Shacharit (followed by Musaf)—Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM
Our traditional, fully egalitarian services encourage participatory davening and feature uplifting melodies both old and new, led by our Hazzan, Randall Levin. Our Rabbi, Daniel Graber, offers insight, challenge, inspiration, and comfort with his words on Torah. We are also blessed with many knowledgeable congregants who chant Torah and Haftarah, lead services, and teach.
Children are often seen in the sanctuary and are always welcome. We also have special child-oriented services and activities:
- In Shir L’Shabbat and Kids Kongregation (alternating Shabbat mornings, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM), toddlers to second-graders and their families meet to enjoy song, dance, prayer, puppets, props, and stories.
- Kehilat Yeladim (one Shabbat morning each month, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM) is where children and tweens (third- to eighth-graders) learn how to pray, and why prayer is so central to Jewish heritage. They are introduced to the weekly Torah portion and take an active role in leading activities and discussions, guided by supportive and knowledgeable clergy and teachers.
Following Shabbat services, Kiddush is offered in the Crystal Room or Ballroom.
